A report can be run in one of two modes: to screen or to PDF. Two buttons exist on the Reports screen to allow this:

If the Report to Screen button is clicked, a new window (or Tab depending on browser) displays a preview of the report.

If Report to PDF is clicked, then the PDF Harness screen is displayed. This screen makes the request to the server to turn this report into a PDF document. It displays a waiting animation while the physical file of the report is being generated on the server.

The PDF is displayed in a new browser tab, from where the user can save or print a copy.
